Meet Rommy Ezeonwuka Ogirisi, the visionary behind Rojenny Stadium and Tourist Center in Oba. At just 21 years old, he became the first Igbo man to travel to Taiwan in 1976 for business venture.. During his visit, he imported Japanese motorcycle spare parts from Taiwan, revolutionizing the spare parts market and significantly benefiting Nnewi’s dealers today.
Ogirisi also introduced several groundbreaking innovations to Nigeria, including Fiber Glass Technology and bamboo toothpick manufacturing. He built Nigeria’s largest private stadium, which hosted numerous continental matches featuring teams from Algeria, Egypt, Ivory Coast, and Mali. Additionally, he established the largest tourism industry in Nigeria known as Rojenny Tourist Center Oba Anambra state Nigeria.
A notable supporter of youth development, Ogirisi hosted the Golden Eaglets at his Rojenny Tourist Center for over two years, providing them with scholarships to Merchant of Light Secondary School while they trained in football. His support was instrumental in their victory at the 1993 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Japan, under Coach Fany Amun, with notable players like Celestine Babayaro, Wilson Oruma, Kanu Nwankwo, and Peter Anosike.
Further contributing to agriculture, Ogirisi acquired extensive farmland in Anaku Ayamelum and invited other farmers, including Coscharis Farms. His global travels to 85% of major cities have given him insights into what drives developed countries, including:
