In a heated online exchange, Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has expressed outrage over a viral testimony video shared by a member of the Lord’s Chosen church. The video features an elderly man boasting about his miraculous survival from kidnappers and attacks that included gunshots and a machete blow to the head, all of which he claimed did no harm.
VDM, known for his criticism of such testimonies, has called on the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to investigate the veracity of these claims. He has threatened to take legal action against the church, accusing it of misleading its congregation with exaggerated and fabricated testimonies.
This isn’t the first time Verydarkman has voiced concerns. Just last week, he condemned another viral testimony in which a woman claimed to have overpowered armed robbers, describing their gun as an “AK 27,” which was corrected by the pastor to an “AK 47.” These testimonies, according to VDM, are not just untruthful but harmful to the credibility of Christianity.
In a recent post reacting to the latest video, Verydarkman mocked the church member’s testimony, stating: “Now they’re getting spiritual iron heads, abi? All these chosen members, CAN get ready for me, this nonsense needs to stop.”
VDM has been a vocal critic of similar content in the past, including a longstanding dispute with Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin over the latter’s “healing water” miracle claims, further intensifying his crusade against what he calls false religious testimonies.
