The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has initiated an investigation into products marketed by Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin. The agency accuses the church of misleading the public by falsely claiming its “miracle” water and soap products are registered with NAFDAC.
In a statement issued on Sunday, NAFDAC Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, revealed that none of the products being sold by the church have been officially approved by the agency. According to the statement, the products are being promoted under false pretenses, including claims that they can heal conditions like barrenness and lead to women conceiving twins.
“NAFDAC has received numerous petitions from concerned citizens regarding the promotion and sale of ‘Miracle Water’ and ‘Miracle Soap’ by Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries. These products are being advertised with unfounded healing claims, and many have been falsely marketed as being registered with NAFDAC,” the statement reads.
Among the products submitted to NAFDAC for verification are several varieties of “miracle” water and soap, including “River Jordan Water,” “A New Beginning Pool of Bethsaida Water,” and “Father Smelled Perfume.”
NAFDAC has urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid purchasing products with unverified claims, reminding consumers that any product not registered with the agency may pose health risks. The agency emphasized its commitment to ensuring public safety and warned against deceptive practices in the sale of unapproved products.
For further updates on the investigation, NAFDAC has encouraged Nigerians to report suspicious products or activities.
