Denilson Igwe has filed a lawsuit against popular comedian Mark Angel, demanding 50 percent of the revenue generated from Mark Angel Comedy between 2013 and 2019, the year he left the company.
The lawsuit follows a meeting held on August 10, 2024, facilitated by VDM, where Mark Angel reportedly offered Denilson Igwe 10 percent of Mark Angel Comedy’s revenue, along with a house, a Lexus 350, and ₦50 million. During the meeting, Mark Angel also emphasized that Denilson needed a steady income, rather than just material assets like a car and a house.
However, weeks after the meeting, Denilson Igwe expressed disappointment that Mark Angel had not formalized the agreement or taken any concrete steps toward fulfilling his promises. As a result, Denilson has taken legal action, demanding 50 percent of the revenue generated by Mark Angel Comedy from its inception in 2013 until his departure in 2019.
In the lawsuit, Denilson reminded Mark Angel that he had handed over the comedy platform to him due to his lack of education and experience in handling social media at the time, and because he was serving as a houseboy in their household
