The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has announced that the party will apply its successful Edo State governorship election strategy to secure victory in the upcoming Ondo State governorship election on November 16.
Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, also stated that the APC plans to use the same approach to win Anambra State, which is currently governed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as well as other South-East states in future elections.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday during a celebration of Senator Monday Okpebholo’s victory, alongside members of the Edo State election situation room, Ganduje emphasized that a party as large as the APC should have a stronger presence in the South-East geo-political zone. He urged party leaders to intensify their efforts to achieve the party’s goals.
“We have already begun developing strategies to win these states. Anambra is next in line. Let me remind you of our project, which we call the ‘political demarginalization of the South-East geo-political zone.’ This is a task that must be accomplished. We will focus on the five states in the South-East. Currently, we have two under our control, but for a party of our size, two is not enough. We will work diligently to recover more states in our favor,” Ganduje declared.
